Slovenia is a Central European nation located at the crossroad of European cultural and trade routes. Its capital is located in Ljubljana. Healthcare in Slovenia is organised by Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (HIIS, Zavod za zdravstveno zavarovanje Slovenije in Slovene). HIIS is mandated to provide compulsory health for all citizens. It is paid by both the employee and employer, with the self-employed and unemployed pay a fixed amount or fixed proportion of their income. It is illegal to give different treatments to patients based on their insurance. All emergency services in Slovenia are provided for free, including the cost of ambulance

Food
Slovene cuisine is influenced by Mediterranean and Turkish culture. An example of its cuisine that you might be familiar with would be baklava, a very sweet pastry with nuts and honey, and goulash (called Bograč), thick and savoury stew made with meat spices, tomatoes and potatoes. There is also a traditional bread that is Pogača. Source of starch mostly consumed in Slovene is potatoes and buckwheat, and you can expect to find it in any part of your meals. One can also expect plenty of cheese, as expected of cuisine from such area.
Transportation
Transport between and within the cities of Slovenia is achievable through networks of railways, buses, and coaches. Slovenia’s international airport Jože Pučnik can be reached through direct flight from several airports like Venice, Vienna, Zagreb, Graz, and Klagenfurt. There are also direct train lines from several cities to Ljubljana like Vienna, Venice, Budapest, and some others. There are also services that offer ride sharing and car transport.
