SIGNORA (SCORA Gives Education on Maternal Health & Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness) is one of the activities of SCORA CIMSA UGM which aims to provide education and increase public awareness about the health of pregnant women, as well as breast and cervical cancer, through a series of activities.
The SIGNORA series began with pre-project training activities, which were held on September 11, 2021, and October 1, 2021, by presenting PETRA CIMSA UGM and dr. Ajeng Visca Icanervilia, M.P.H as trainers. The training, attended by the organizing committees and members of SCORA CIMSA UGM batch 2020.
SIGNORA’s next event is a talk show and virtual maternal yoga, which was held on September 25, 2021, with 96 participants in total. The SIGNORA talk show agenda featured by dr. Keven Tali, Sp.OG and Aviria Ermamilia, S.Gz, M.Gizi, RD, as well as a virtual maternal yoga instructor, Tia Pratignyo, M.A., CCE/CD (BWI) from Nujuh Bulan Studio.
In collaboration with Girl Up UGM, SIGNORA also held a 3-day air campaign entitled RADIANCE (Raising Awareness about Breast and Cervical Cancer through Social Media) with the topic of breast cancer and cervical cancer on October 8-10, 2021. 390 people have participated in the campaign.
RADIANCE series of activities also include the publication of IGTV videos containing public’s opinion about the stigma of breast cancer and cervical cancer, videos of personal experience from a breast cancer survivor, educational broadcasts on WhatsApp groups, articles about the importance of the HPV vaccine on CIMSA UGM’s website.
In addition, SIGNORA also organized a fundraising event to promote the provision of early breast cancer screening services. This activity was held from September 16 to October 16, 2021. The collected funds were then distributed to Lovepink Indonesia on October 18, 2021.
SIGNORA closed its series of activities with Bessara (Belajar Bersama SCORA), an educational activity aimed at a community with a high age group. In addition, on 16 October 2021, SIGNORA collaborated with Moms.Id held an online asynchronous lecture via WhatsApp, that was brought by an alumni of CIMSA UGM, dr. Chakti Ari Swastika.
We hope that through the entire series of SIGNORA activities, we will be able to increase the committee’s, members of SCORA CIMSA UGM, and the general public’s knowledge and awareness of the health of pregnant women, including antenatal care, maternal mental health, and postpartum health, as well as the definition, causes, and early detection of SADARI and SADANIS.
