HDN (Hari Dokter Nasional) – CIMSA UNS x CIMSA UGM

HDN (Hari Dokter Nasional) was held to celebrate National Doctor’s Day. This activity held by SCOME CIMSA FK UNS and CIMSA UGM has a theme “Social Accountability on Medical Schools”. Most of the respondents (55.6%) from 54 respondents answered that they did not have prior knowledge related to social accountability. With the same number, namely 55.6%, they said that they did not know whether the study program at their Faculty of Medicine supported general practitioner or not. The average score of respondents’ knowledge about the even distribution of doctors in Indonesia as a form of social accountability is 2.9/5. Only 18.5% of respondents understand the values ​​of social accountability. The majority of respondents still don’t understand when they have to mention the stages of building relationships with stakeholders to increase social accountability in a Faculty of Medicine. On the question about the definition of social responsiveness, although most respondents had answered correctly, almost half a percent (46.3%) of the total respondents still answered incorrectly. These data show that some medical students still lack prior knowledge on social accountability.

The goal of this project is to improve the knowledge of 90 Indonesian medical students about the importance of social accountability in the medical world by delivering material through a webinar from ALURA (Alumni Pencerah Nusantara) within 3 hours which was held in November 2021.

The improvement in knowledge and understanding was measured by an average posttest score of 60%. HDN has two series of events. On November 21, 2021, we held training in the morning about social accountability delivered by Paramastri Cintantya Arindra from MET SCOME. On pre-activity training, there was a focus group discussion about social accountability in the Medicine Faculty of UNS and UGM. Then in the afternoon, we held a national webinar about social accountability delivered by dr. M. Riedha, M.Sc., B.Med.Sci from ALURA (Alumni Pencerah Nusantara) that was moderated by Gede Abhirama D. as LOME UNS 2021/2022. HDN events were impactful, educated, and motivated participants to think critically about social accountability. This statement is proven by an increase in the knowledge of the participants by 26.39%. This event was very impactful and found interesting amongst the participants.
