LEMONADE (Let’s Monitor and Enhance Diabetes Education) is a training and campaign-based activity organized by SCOPH CIMSA UGM to commemorate National Health Day and World Diabetes Day, held annually November 12 and 14. The series of LEMONADE (activities consist of pre-project training, Training for You(th), Road Trip, Campaign from You(th), and #GoodHealthToDonate Campaign. On November 18, 2021, pre-project training was held with the participation of members of SCOPH CIMSA UGM. The event was attended by two CIMSA UGM Public Health Leaders, Hasna Nurul, who submitted material on “Diabetes”, and Patricia Aline, who brought material on “Public Health in Action”
The highlight of the LEMONADE event, Training for You(th), was held on November 21, 2021. We invited dr. M Robikhul Ikhsan, M.Kes., Sp.PD, KEMD to explain about diabetes for PMR high school students in DIY. This activity is also equipped with a focus group discussion facilitated by several members of SCOPH CIMSA UGM. To close this event, we did a zumba class together led by Kak Wiwid, a gymnastics instructor from Zin Zumba. The Road Trip took place on November 22-23, 2021, where PMR students played role-playing games in order to train them in providing education to the people around them during the Campaign From You(th). The event lasted for two days, with participants in this activity divided into seven different sub-meeting rooms, accompanied by one facilitator from SCOPH CIMSA UGM members.
In order to raise public awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, SCOPH CIMSA UGM held the #GoodHealthToDonate Challenge through the Instagram and campaign.com application. This activity is a tool that aims to invite wider community to donate through the implementation of a healthy lifestyle. The challenge period via Instagram took place on November 22-30, 2021 and the challenge period via the Campaign #ForChange application took place from 25th November to 25th December 2021. If you happen to read this before the due date, let’s join the campaign through linktr.ee/GoodHealthToDonate!
This activity could not be done without the support from Zin Zumba, Sobat Diabet, campaign.com, Yayasan Dunia Lebih Baik, and several media partners such as idnvolunteers, infovolunteers, and seputar.infoid. Through this activity, we managed to invite 94 PMR members from 6 high schools in Yogyakarta to deepen their diabetes knowledge and also provide diabetes education to others. There are also 90 participants of #GoodHealthToDonate campaign from both Instagram and campaign.com application (and still counting).
