HEATHER 3rd Intervention
HEATHER: Healthy Soul for a Healthier Life, is a Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) CIMSA UGM work program that aims to increase awareness and knowledge about mental health for SMAN 6 Yogyakarta students. From the previous two HEATHER interventions, it was proven that SMAN 6 Yogyakarta students’ knowledge regarding teenagers’ mental health increased. On March 12th, 2025, we came back to SMAN 6 Yogyakarta bringing a new topic about creating a teen-friendly mental health environment.
On February 25th, 2025, Pre-Project Training was held as the first activity for HEATHER 3.0 OCs with Adinda Nasywaa Salsabila as our Public Health Trainer (PHT). The activities included pre-test, training, post-test, mini game, roleplay session, and an art therapy workshop. This training aimed to equip OCs who would serve as facilitators during the main event to effectively convey material and guide participants.

The main target for our intervention were SMAN 6 Yogyakarta students. Before the main intervention, we held a bonding session between HEATHER OCs and the students by beading bracelets. They created their own bracelets according to their creativity while the OCs engaged in conversation with them to get to know them better. The main intervention was held on March 12th, 2025. It began with the SMAN 6 Yogyakarta students receiving materials from Ms. Andayani Muktiasari, M.Psi, Psikolog from Adante Solution to enhance their knowledge in creating a teen-friendly mental health environment. Afterward, the students joined the “Tell Me Your Feeling” session guided by OCs, where they had to answer the questions based on their feelings. All students were open to the discussion, listened to their friends’ stories and gained a better understanding of being a good listener and peer counselor. We also provide them with art therapy workshops by Ms. Astri Fatwasari, M.Psi, Psikolog from Art Healing as a way to express their feelings.
After the main intervention, we conducted follow up activities to give them a chance to be a peer counselor to their friends. The follow up tasks for them to deepen their understanding were crosswords, keeping daily emotion journals and being peer counselors to their friends. We also held a Focus Group Discussion to allow them to share their experiences as peer counselors. The session ended with the peer counselor appreciation. We believe this intervention will leave a deep impression on the SMAN 6 Yogyakarta students and have an impact on them.
